Good afternoon. Thank you for telling us about your recent experience with Botox for the bladder. Can you tell us what was happening with your bladder before your procedure?
Well, I had urinary incontinence. My whole life was ruled by having to go to the bathroom, changing maybe seven or eight pads per day, coughing, sneezing, that was terrible. No control at all over my bladder and this has just been so life-changing. It’s been wonderful. It’s made such a difference in my life.
What other kinds of things did you try before the Botox injection?
I’ve tried Kegel, actually not too much.
Medications?
No, not medications, but I was getting urinary tract infections all the time and those are pretty well under control right now, so very happy about that.
Good, and right now how often do you go to the bathroom? What kind of control do you have now and how is it different than before?
Oh, wonderful. I may be over the course of the day go to the bathroom four or five times. I have complete control. It’s just been such a big difference in my life and I’m not ruled by when I can go out where the next bathroom is. Am I going to embarrass myself by wetting my pants? It’s just been life -changing for me.
Do you have any advice for somebody who has incontinence who might be considering Botox for the bladder?
Oh, try it. It’s been wonderful. I mean it could make such a big difference in your life and the quality of life certainly approves when you have the Botox and I’d do it again.
